Greg Evans

A little about me and my background.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

My name is Greg Evans and I am an Architectural Photographer living in Bountiful, Utah. I provide my photography services throughout the state as well as its surrounding states.

A little about my background. I have spent the majority of my life, beginning at around 14 years of age, working in and being surrounded by the field of Architecture. My grandfather, father and uncle are all Architects. I currently do, and for the vast majority of the last three decades have, worked for my families architectural business. My families business specializes mainly in state and local government projects such as courts, educational and institutional facilities. I'm personally responsible for the 3D Bim modeling, drafting, production of construction bid drawings, promotional photography, IT / networking as well as many other aspects of the business.

I have dabbled in a variety of photographic genres but have the strongest draw toward the Architectural Photography specialty, most likely due to my extensive experience in the Architectural field throughout my life. Architectural Photography just seems like a very natural fit.

I have always preferred a photographic style that involves a static subject where I am able to slow down and absorb the scene laid out in front of me. I enjoy working through the technical aspects of this type of photography including the lighting (both ambient and artificial), the subject, the surroundings and the technical aspects of my equipment. My final goal is to always meet the needs and goals of my client.

If I had to describe myself, I would say that I am very technically oriented rather than artistic, but my skills and proficiency in thinking technically seem to translate quite well into a rather artistic result in my photography.

My photography is a side gig but I take it very seriously and take great pride in my work. I typically perform my photo-shoots along with my wife Tina as my assistant. Generally I try to schedule my photo-shoots during the morning or evening hours as well as on weekends. This has worked out very well due to the morning and evening hours typically being the best time for Architectural photography (lighting wise). Also, weekends are often a time where the facilities, parking lots etc. are less crowded.

Anyway, enough about me. Please check out my portfolio on this website to get a feel for my style and quality of work. If you are interested in working with me or have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I would love to have the opportunity to work with you on any upcoming projects you may have.
